Salty

With finals coming up, and summer right around the corner, all I can think about is the beach and Cape Cod. I have been vacationing there for the past 20 years and I wouldn't have it any other way. Main Street in Hyannis is where I got this great graphic tank by Artichoke, with The Cape arm as the end of the "y". Here I paired it with my navy J.Crew Pixie pants, a Forever 21 open cardigan and my go-to Converse.
I want to wish everyone good luck on finals and remember that there is still room for fun these next few weeks!

Tan Lines

[too faced chocolate bronzed Lorac tantalizer Nars orgasm blush NYX illuminator blush]
It's that time of year that the sun will start shinning and tan lines appear! This past weekend I got a little burnt from sitting in the sun.. So I had to break out all the bronzer because my foundations too light for my sunburn!
During the summer I love using Loracs tantilzer baked bronzer because it gives all shades a beautiful bronze look. I use this too faced chocolate bronzer almost everyday and is my favorite.. It's great for a bronzer and also I have used it for contouring purposes too.. So if your looking for great blushes or bronzers for this summer any of these will certainly suffice! Have a super weekend everyone

Palazzo

Some of my favorite prints from Boca Leche!
(I have the last pair)

One of my favorite trends for this summer are Palazzo pants. ( Or Exumas pants, whichever you prefer.) With a very resort feel, these bottoms allow comfort and style with different prints and colors. Being tall, it is often difficult to find pants (of any sort) that are long enough for my legs. I now own two pairs of Palazzo pants, from two different companies, and both are plenty long enough for me. It's a miracle!
Some of my favorite pairs are from Forever 21 and Boca Leche.
Paired with a basic tank, tee, or crop, this trend can add fun, color and print to your summer wardrobe!

Flannel

Pre Easter dinner, my sister and I spent our Sunday playing with our beautiful baby cousin Max, and running errands around the city. Just like any other college gal I have a sick obsession with crop tops. I picked this one up (and one in white) this past week at Forever 21 for only $7 each! Paired with my pixie pants, high tops and a comfy flannel, I created a casual yet super trendy look!

Coconut Oil

Lately I have been reading so much about the benefits of coconut oil. At first I thought of it like most would... as a cooking substitute for butter or any other unhealthy oils ... However coconut oil has various uses and I thought I might share a few...
Firstly for beauty purposes it can be used to help naturally heal cold sores... As cuticle cream, lotion for burns, natural sunscreen, or a natural deep conditioner.
Coconut Oil is high in Lauric Acid which is said to speed up metabolism .. Also helping optimal thyroid function.
So next time your sunburnt... Or even are cooking at home think of coconut oil and all the benefits it can provide!

Sunday

White Dress [Ya Los Angeles] Shoes [Moda] Watch [ Concepts]

For this upcoming Easter Sunday I wanted to wear something cute for brunch. I paired a Ya Los Angeles Dress that I found for a bargain in a local Northhampton store named Faces. I always like wearing wedges or heels when wearing a dress, and feel it makes my legs look better, which I did not want to show off today because of how pale I am! This concepts watch is one of my favorite yet, I love the leather and chain links, and wear it all the time paired with some gold jewlery. I hope you all have a wonderful easter and enjoy your time spent with family and friends!

Chucks

This spring I wanted a new shoe that wasn't sandals. I decided on a pair of fresh white Converse high tops. I feel that they are a great transition from season to season and are comfortable to wear all day long! Here I paired them with my favorite leather paneled leggings from Nordstrom Rack and a simply camo tee from J.Crew. Since New England is still a little chilly, on top I wore a light weight utility jacket from J.Crew!

Curls

One of my most commonly asked question from people is, How do I get my hair to look the way it does? My reply (half joking, half not) is " I don't brush it!" In reality the key to great hair is partially a good cut, and partially using the right tools.
If you have longer hair, and want a waterfall look to your curls, I suggest getting a cut with a decent amount of layering and framing around the face. This gives less weight to your curls allowing for more volume.
Everyone has their own preference on tools and ways in which to get the best curls. I used to be a avid straightener curler. Within the past year I have switched over to the curling wand and have no plans on going back. The key to a good wand is making sure it is ceramic. Metal curling irons or any hair tools just don't give the same definition and hold as all of the new ceramic tools do. Also, I suggest a curling wand that is 1 inch straight. That means that it has a 1 inch diameter all the way around, unlike some which taper to a point at the end.
The amazing thing about buying a great curling wand is that it doesn't have to cost you an arm and a leg the way a quality straightener does.
I use the Revlon 1 Inch Nano Diamond Retractable Curling Wand
It was purchased at my local Target. Some similar brands can be found at your local Ulta all for around $30-35.
I highly recommend investing in a curling wand if you're looking for a new and easy way to get luscious locks!

Kicking Back

Sneakers [Pewter Vans] Top [Monteau] Jacket [Alice Kris]

Today I decided it was time to kick back in my new authentic lo pro, pewter vans, and just enjoy the weather with Tayla, who I have to thank for taking these photos! For a typical on the go day just walking around campus a nice pair of sneaks is a must have. Vans will look great with any pair of skinny jeans or leggings. This cream lace top I bought from Nordstrom Rack was meant to be for our upcoming country concert, but it pairs great with a jean jacket too! I would say if your looking for a cute shoe for this spring and summer, but want something on the more comfortable side Vans are a perfect find!                                            <3 Jill

Fringe

Warm Sundays mean outdoor adventures! Yesterday, my roommate and I needed a study break, so no better activity than wandering around the trails of Amherst. Here I am wearing my J.Crew black Pixie pants and Minnetonka 3-layer fringe boots. Paired with a comfy Victoria's Secret crop top tee and my favorite J.Crew jean jacket. Over winter break I stumbled upon this wonderful beaded headband at Anthropologie and it has been a staple in my accessories ever since.
Also, a HUGE shout out to my roommate Ally for being a great photographer!

Its a 10

I know there is no such thing as a miracle product for your hair ladies but I think this brand comes pretty close! Often times when dying my hair from brunette to blonde my hair will become so dead I just want to chop it all off... Last year my hairdresser suggested using this brand as a leave in product on my split ends, from color treating my hair and I loved it.
This spray has lasted almost a year now, and a little goes a long way. I usually purchase mine at my salon however I have seen this product at everywhere from Walmart to Ulta.If your hair is tangled and is in need of a little TLC I highly suggest giving this product a shot!

Neon

Some days Mother Nature does not like to cooperate. But, wind and all the show must go on! Here I am wearing my favorite J.Crew Pixie Pants (as always),  a simple J.Crew neon striped sweater that I snagged SUPER on sale at the factory one day. I am enjoying the last days of wearing my Frye Melissa Button Boots as spring has officially sprung. A statement necklace from Target, along with some midi rings from Forever 21 (my new obsession), match my J.Crew oversized studs and gold MK watch.
